Ullal: In the event of an accident, a person’s precious life can be saved if he or she gets first aid at the right time. So first aid information is essential for everyone. Everyone should realize the importance of this,” said College Principal Dr. K. Sudhakar.

He was speaking after inaugurating the first aid awareness program organized by the Red Cross unit at the University First Grade College, Mangalagangothri at Yakshagana Kala Kendra auditorium here on Thursday. Gloria Jennifer Rodrigues, service guide of the Red Cross unit in Dakshina Kannada district, who participated as a resource person at the event, explained the importance of first aid and explained about the importance of first aid burns, and poisoning, in the water.

“When we drown, when there is a heart attack, when there is a bee bite when food gets stuck in the throat, we first explained the treatment methods that we should take.” He explained the methods of preventing excessive bleeding and demonstrated the method of wrapping the bandage in case of a neck injury or severe injury to the bones of the hand. Red Cross Unit Programme Officer Jyothi D.M. Faculty members and students were also present. 2nd B.A. Fatima Rauvana welcomed the students and Aishath Alfina thanked them.
