University College Chemistry Department organises Fresher’s Day

Ullal: The Department of Chemistry organized ‘Nava Aarambh’ or Freshers’ Day to welcome the first-year students of Post Graduate Chemistry at University College, Hampanakatte here on Thursday.

The principal, Who presided over the function, Dr. Speaking the occasion, Anasuya Rai said that students should be equipped to adapt to the changing world. The chemistry department of the college is doing well in this regard. He wished all the students the very best to take advantage of this program.

The chief guest, Professor, Department of Chemistry, NITK, Surathkal, Dr. Saikat Dutta lectured the students on “Cracking Gate/Net Getting Ahead of Curve” and “Converging Carbohydrates into Organic Chemicals: Practicality of the Waste to Wealth Philosophy”. “The employment we have earned today cannot be said to be stable after ten to fifteen years. So we have to keep updated every day,” he said.

The program was attended by The Coordinator of the Department of Post Graduate Chemistry, Dr. Lakshmana K., Head of the Department of Chemistry Degree. K. M. Usha, lecturers of various departments, and students were present.
