Ullal: The Department of Chemistry organized ‘Nava Aarambh’ or Freshers’ Day to welcome the first-year students of Post Graduate Chemistry at University College, Hampanakatte here on Thursday.

The chief guest, Professor, Department of Chemistry, NITK, Surathkal, Dr. Saikat Dutta lectured the students on “Cracking Gate/Net Getting Ahead of Curve” and “Converging Carbohydrates into Organic Chemicals: Practicality of the Waste to Wealth Philosophy”. “The employment we have earned today cannot be said to be stable after ten to fifteen years. So we have to keep updated every day,” he said.
