Ullal: A women workers’ meet organized by SDPI Ullal City Committee was held at the SDPI party office in Ullal. SDPI Dakshina Kannada District Vice President Misriya Kannur presided over the program and said that it has already been proved that a woman can work efficiently in all spheres of society. Achieving women like Mother Teresa, Madame Curie, Kalpana Chawla, Indira Gandhi, and Drift Quin Rifa Taskeen have gained world fame in their field of work. A woman should not develop a feeling of inferiority complex but should be proud of the specialties she possesses, she said, adding that motherhood, and giving birth are not possible only by a woman.
Riyaz Farangipet, who was the chief guest at the event, said that women should come together to understand their constitutional rights and duties and take advantage of them and become financially empowered. The development of women is possible through education. So women have to come into the mainstream of society by giving top priority to education. He said that women are an integral part of society today and it is difficult to build a perfect and healthy society without a woman.
Similarly, Nasriya Bellare, state secretary of the Women’s India Movement, spoke about the obvious benefits of women’s political participation for democratic governance and inspiring the women who joined the SDPI. On this occasion, many women from the Ullal Nagar Sabha constituency joined the SDPI party and accepted membership in the party. Ullal Municipal Councilors Shahnaz Akram, Rukia, Kamarunnisha, Zarina Raup, and office bearers of the city council were present on the occasion.
