Ullal: The chairman of the jury of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Life Science Award Selection Committee was chaired by Dr. K. Sudhakar, Director, Department of Research, University of Nitte. Indrani Karunasagar selected Director of the Department of Research, Nitte University, Dr. B.R. Shailaja has been appointed as the Chairman of the Jury Committee of the Unesco-Equatorial Guinea International Life Science Award Selection Committee, the most prestigious award given to scientists who make significant scientific contributions globally. Indrani Karunasagar, who was nominated by UNESCO, presided over the award ceremony for international scientists for their achievements in 2012 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
President of Equatorial Guinea, heads of several African countries, and ambassadors. Along with dignitaries from several countries, including the Indian Ambassador to UNESCO and the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, Dr. Indrani Karunasagar participated and presented the award. In 2022, Egypt’s National Research Center Mossad Attia Abdel Wahab, From the Center for Nanotechnology and Material Science at The University of Vilnius, Lithuania. Almirah Ramanavisine; Dr. Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov of the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics, Uzbekistan, received the award, which was awarded by P.R. Yigong Shi, President of West Lake University, China.
Every year UNESCO nominates a five-member international jury. Indrani Karunasagar has been a member since 2014 and has served as the president this time.
