Ullal: The academic meeting of Mangalore University has approved the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 from the academic year 2023-24 by giving approval for the syllabus and regulation of the business data analytics programme in Bcom for the first and second semesters. Mangaluru University Vice-Chancellor P.S. Yadapadithaya presided over the university’s academic meeting held at the Administrative Soudha auditorium in Mangalagangothri, Konaje on Thursday and approved the inclusion of the business data analytics programme at the time of admission of students under Section 3.3 factory commerce of the National Education Policy 2020.
Approval for the draft semi-lingual research centre. Approval was given to the rules framed for setting up a semi-lingual research centre at Mangalore University. Administrative approval has already been given to the Centre as announced in the Budget for 2022-23. In addition to this, an additional Rs 2 crore will be provided under grant-in-aid general. The release has also been made to carry out preliminary works in this regard, frame regulations and plan the activities. Vishwanath Badikana has been appointed as the coordinator of the chair and it was approved at the meeting that had prepared draft rules for establishment. The vice-chancellor informed the meeting that the centre would be set up as soon as the guidelines in this regard are received from the government. On this occasion, Mangalore university is related to d.litt/d.sc. degree.
Approval was given for the upgradation and modification of regulations, revised syllabus for the third semester of the Kannada language subject at an undergraduate level under NEP and syllabus of the optional course. In Addition, The Fourth Semester Syllabus Of the Hindi Language Subject And Ba Program Hindi Course was also approved. The draft on the cadre and recruitment procedure for the posts of Vice-Chancellor/ Equivalent Cadre of Mangalore University was approved. Qualifications were prescribed to teach a skill-enhancing course. The BSc (Fashion and Apparel Design) programme was changed to BSc (fashion design) from now onwards and the name was approved.
New changes like approval of the revised syllabus of the Post Graduate Statistics Programme, approval of revised syllabus in the Post Graduate Tulu programme and approval of guidelines prepared to supplement the regulation governing PhD programme, implementation of value-added courses
