Ullal: Blood donation is an important and auspicious event. MLC B M Farooq opined that organizations should create awareness about the importance of blood donation among students and madrasas, including the youth. He was speaking after inaugurating a public massive blood donation camp and felicitation of eminent personalities, diabetes and blood pressure screening camp at Islahi Combined PRE-University College and Islahi English Medium School, Hosakari housing colony, Ullal, under the joint auspices of Hosakari Youth Foundation and Islahi Education Trust, Ullal, Lions Club Mangaladevi in association with Father Muller Hospital Blood Bank Kankanady and Yenepeya Hospital Blood Bank Deralakatte.
The importance of donating blood has increased post-Covid. More than 12,000 people die due to a lack of blood in the country. Since there is a shortage of blood, there should be awareness among the youth and women about blood donation. In this regard, The Youth Foundation of Hosakari has set an example for society by organizing a good program. Fazal Asaigoli, the state BJP working committee member, said, “One milliliter of blood is the best of all the wealth in the world. The essence of the Bhagavad Gita should be remembered by all. He said it is commendable that the Hosakari Foundation has joined hands for a noble cause like blood donation.
